Original Drawing: "Navitimer" - From the series: Time flies, Icons Remain.

The history of this watch began in 1952 when the famous US Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) approached Willy Breitling to design a new chronograph for their members. As a result, Breitling developed a revolutionary wristwatch.
The 1940s Chronomat's logarithmic slide rule was ingeniously adapted for aviation by incorporating it into a rotating bezel, further enhanced with little beads for easy handling.
The watch had a 41mm diameter dial with oversized Arabic numerals filled with radium, which provided easy readability and clear contrast.
It was named "Navitimer": a reliable companion for pilots that allowed them to perform crucial and essential in-flight calculations. From average speed to fuel consumption, distance traveled to rate of climb or descent, and even conversion of miles to kilometers or nautical miles.
As soon as the Navitimer was introduced to the AOPA, it became an instant success among the members.
After the initial release, various modifications were made to this watch throughout the years. Time flies, but the icon remains.
